Air Force's powerful radar fully active-
Surveillance is essential to keep the airspace safe. To strengthen this surveillance system, radar with advanced technology was purchased from France's Thalas company at a cost of 730 crore rupees. This new radar is fully operational. Apart from this, the Air Force has its own radar.

On the other hand, there is another radar awaiting operation in Chittagong. All in all, the country's airspace is much more integrated and safe than ever before, said those concerned.

There was a lot of debate about the price of this radar in the early stages. To avoid that criticism, the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina decided to install the radar on her own initiative by talking to the French President through the Jituji (government to government) method.

In view of this, in April 2021, the government approved a project called CNS-ATM (Communication, Navigation and Surveillance-Air Traffic Management) radar installation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.

The Cabinet Committee on Procurement approved the Civil Aviation Authority (CABA) project on June 8, 2021. Its cost is estimated to be around Rs 730 crore.

This expenditure is borne from Babychak's own funds. In October 2021, Babychuck signed an agreement with Thales, a French radar manufacturing company, to implement the project. Following this, this radar was installed in November 2023.

Gradually it also started working. It has been fully operational since last August.

Civil Aviation Authority (Air Traffic Management-ATM) member Air Commodore Ziaul Haque said the newly installed radar at Shahjalal Airport is now fully operational. This radar is made with modern technology. This has strengthened the surveillance of the airspace of the country. The new Air Traffic System (ATS) has also enhanced our status in the outside world.

In response to a question, he said, there is some confusion about our ATMs. Many people are spreading rumors due to some technical problems. In addition to our state-of-the-art system radars, the Air Force has its own radars, which we monitor. Another radar is also awaiting operation in Chittagong.

There is no chance for any country's aircraft to avoid our country's airspace.

He further said, currently we generate substantial revenue through ATMs.
According to Bebichak sources, some misleading and false information is being spread about the airspace of the country. Misinformation is being spread about the radar installed in Chittagong for a few days. Although the radar previously installed at Shahjalal is very old, it has always been functional and normal through various upgrades and overhauling.

24 hour monitoring and control services are provided through advanced technology. As a result, the opportunity to cross the airspace of Bangladesh by evading the radar was not there before, and still is not.
It is known from Babychak sources that it is predetermined when any aircraft will enter the airspace of Bangladesh. Overflying charges are applicable for this. If an aircraft enters the country's airspace for even one minute, they must be notified and charges apply.

Not only Babychock's radar, Air Force has multiple radars to guard the airspace of Bangladesh.

According to the sources, although there is no air traffic control through the Chittagong radar, the southern part of Bangladesh and the sea border are completely monitored through the Dhaka radar. The radar was installed in Chittagong in 2017 with the help of JICA, but the launch was delayed due to various administrative complications and later due to the Corona epidemic.

However, in 2022, the radar was launched once. Later, the operation was stopped when a technical fault was detected.

At present, efforts are being made to solve the technical problems through the NEC company in Japan. The activities will resume very soon.
According to sources, additional income has touched 2000 crores in the last 9 financial years, but it has not been completed. 1,500 to 1,800 crore was limited. As a result of installation of new radar there, the income will be 2.5 to 3 thousand crore rupees.
