Again, various features of smartphones running on Android operating system cannot be used on iPhone. And so sometimes Google and Apple add new features to their operating systems based on each other's features. In continuation of this, Google is working to add the facility called 'Rich Ongoing Notification' to the Android operating system, similar to the 'Live Activities' of the iOS operating system.
Mishal Rahman, who is known as an Android operating system expert, said that when the rich ongoing notification facility is launched, Android users will be able to see all the necessary information from the status bar at a glance. This new API was recently hinted at in the code of the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3 version. The feature is expected to be added in Android 16 operating system.
According to a report by Android Authority, the status bar of the rich ongoing notification facility will see a chips icon instead of the normal icon. Tapping on the chips icon will open a dialog box, through which you can play or pause music, skip tracks, etc. That is, through notifications, you will get the opportunity to do various tasks immediately from the same screen.
The rich ongoing notification feature, like Apple's Dynamic Island, can be seen in the empty space to the left of the status bar instead of appearing in the phone's 'notch' or side of the front camera. The feature is still in testing phase. So there may be some changes during the release of the final version.
