As artificial intelligence or AI grows in popularity, so do the number of new AI tools. Especially since the emergence of the popular generative AI-based chatbot ChatGPT, various companies have started coming up with AI models that specialize in different tasks.
Chatbots such as Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot are capable of generating text and images according to user instructions, as well as acting like AI personal assistants.
Now Facebook owner Meta is rolling out a new AI model that will generate audio and video based on user instructions (prompts).
Today (Friday) Meta announced a new AI model called 'Movie Zen'.With it, Mark Zuckerberg's Meta has challenged the popular company OpenAI (creator of ChatGPT) and ElevenLabs to create prompt-based AI content.
Mater's 'MovieGen' tool creates realistic audio-video as the user enters the type of audio and video they want to create at the prompt. Meta has already shared several sample videos created with MovieGen.
Some of the meta-shared videos used images of animals swimming and surfing. A few videos show real people painting on canvas.
MovieZen is also adept at creating background music and sound effects according to the content of the video – at least claims Meta. Besides, users can edit any existing video using this AI tool.
One sample video shows Matter holding a pom-pom to a man jogging in the desert, while in another, a video of him skateboarding on dry land in a parking lot switches to 'parking lot' and shows him skateboarding in frozen water.
Meta will face a tough challenge if not only OpenAI and ElevenLabs, but also popular AI tools like Synesthesia, Perplexity are able to do exactly what 'Movie Zen' claims.
Time will tell how 'Movie Zen' will perform, but users can expect great things after seeing the initial samples.
