Bangladeshi college students can go to America through the YES program. America offers fellowships and various scholarships to foreign students from undergraduate to post-doctoral studies in America. Every year students of different levels from Bangladesh go to the country for education on scholarships.
The country's Kennedy-Luger Youth Exchange and Study (YES) is one of many programs for high school students in Bangladesh. Applications for this program are ongoing for the next academic year 2025-26.
Interested Bangladeshi college students can also apply online for this program by October 27. There is no application fee for the YES program.
According to a notification from the US Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladeshi high school students in grades 8-11 who have performed well in grades 8-11 will receive YES Scholarships to stay in the US for one year under the YES program, funded by the US State Department.
Facilities:
1. Waiver of Airfare.
2. Waiver of US Visa Fees.
3. Free food and lodging in the United States.
4. Salary and monthly expenses of educational institution $125.
5. Pre-departure orientation is free.
6. Staying with an American host family is free.
7. Monthly stipend.
8. Health insurance benefits.
9. An opportunity to interact with YES alumni from all over the world.
Application Eligibility:
1. Candidates age should be between 15-17 years as on 15th August 2025.
2. Candidates enrolled in Bangladeshi High School from 8th to 11th standard should be eligible.
3. Bangladeshi students already studying abroad will not be eligible to apply.
4. At the time of application, 2022, 2023 and 2024 academic year mark sheets should be submitted.
5. Annual results must have minimum grade 'B' (50 percent marks) average.
6. Must have only Bangladeshi citizenship.
7. Must be eligible for a US J-One visa.
8. Must be proficient in writing and speaking English.
9. Neither parent works at a US mission (US Embassy, USAID).
