Sports bikes are a thing of the past. The deep love of many buyers for street naked bikes is coming to light. Seeing that, Yamaha has moved on from their fourth generation MT-7 motorcycle. The 2025 version of MT-07 has brought many changes to the model. It has new chassis, engine and features. The motorcycle debuted with a completely new styling.
Unveiled in the international market, the new Yama MT-7 is based on a new tubular steel chassis. The front LED DRLs and projector LED headlamps accentuate the aggressive look. The 17-inch alloy wheels have helped reduce the weight of the bike by 500 grams compared to before. In all, it has shed 600 grams and now comes with a 183 kg carb weight. Seat height from the ground is 805 mm.
The updated model of the MT-07 bike has a CP2 698 cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It also has new airbox, intake funnel. This motor will produce a maximum power of 72.4 bhp. The new feature of this bike is the Y-AMT semi automatic transmission. The addition of this technology eliminates the clutch and gear shifter.
If there is a need to change the gear, the driver can control it through the two automatic modes present in it. But for those who want to opt for the old system, the bike is available with a 6-speed gearbox.It also features switchable traction control, multiple ride modes, power modes and cruise control. Manual version has assist and slipper clutch.
In terms of hardware, the Yamaha MT-07 model features a lightweight 41mm USD front fork and preload adjustable monoshock suspension. Braking is provided with new four piston radial brake calipers.
There have been speculations for a long time that this bike may be launched in the Indian market. However, it is not possible to say for sure about this medium weight naked motorcycle until it is launched.
